Don't you wish that you could change these frosty winter days in Portland to a warm, sunny day in a lavender field? Or, like our dogs Lucie and Sophie, spread out on the couch with your favorate toy and dream, rather than working outdoors like we have to?!

The Kansas City Public Library's parking garage is known as the Community Bookshelf and was built by the Design Firm Dimentional Innovations. Probably the most unconventional garage facade ever!
The beautiful Fresco painted on the house at the Obere Gasse in Chur, Switzerland was painted by unknown and photographed by Yvonne Mestre of Mesman Images

Tomorrow, November 23rd, will be sunny and 49 degrees here in the Pacific Northwest. Portland Saturday Market (Oops . . . open on Sundays, too!) will be open, jam-packed with numerous artists selling creative work that could cross some gifts off of your Holiday list or maybe spark some ideas for those hard-to-shop-for family & friends. Come down to the Waterfront and see our latest
6" x 16" digital paintings in booth #208, Mesman Images, under the Burnside Bridge. See you then; mention this post and get 10% off!

Did you know that this popular canal was built all the way back in the 1600's by Pierre-Paul Riquet? His waterway runs from the town of Sete on the Mediterannean to the town of Toulouse, where the Garonne River takes over and links to the Atlantic Ocean. Sadly, Riquet never had the chance to see his massive work finished; he died eight months prior to its completion.

Today November 7th is the year's last "First Thursday Art Walk" in the Pearl District here in Portland, Oregon. Don't forget to buy your gifts locally! We are Mesman Images, selling photography and digital paintings as well as handmade pendants, ornaments, and magnets displaying our photography. We buy all our supplies in the US, helping to support 7 other businesses besides our own. This evening, we'll be located on NW 13th between Hoyt and Irving. Rain or shine, 6pm - 10pm.

Last Thursday on Alberta, here in Portland. And. . . it was grotesque! While on all other Last Thursdays the street was closed to traffic, yesterday it was re-opened and it seemed like the public said, "Let's go elsewhere" . . . Those of us who very much needed to add some sales to our bottom line were there only to watch kids trick-or-treat in the early evening and contemplate the empty streets once it was dark.
What's so terrible is that, we, the artists, who have for years helped to get people interested in Alberta's Art Walk every Last Thursday, have been forgotten as the event has been transformed into a "Drink Fest".
Hello Portland, . . . how about reinstating an Art Walk on Alberta or elsewhere in the city, to thank Portland's art community for its efforts to put Alberta's Last Thursday on the map.
This weekend, come visit the Mesman Images booth #208 at Portland Saturday Market, beneath the Burnside Bridge. By the way, the Market is also open on Sundays!
